Kristen Lukaszak, an Associate Attorney with Fisher Kanaris, is what the LAF External Relations team likes to call an O.G., which – for those readers out there unfamiliar with the terms the youth like to use – stands for “Original Gangster.” As a founding member of the YPB, Kristen has been around and involved in planning YPB social events from the beginning, and has helped set the standard of excellence that have become the trademarks of these occasions.
When asked what she is most proud of, Kristen immediately mentioned co-chairing and planning the inaugural Justice is Served event in 2013. It was the first year the YPB decided to take its annual Spring event to the next level, from a fun night out at a sports bar to a full-on cocktail soiree, and Kristen was instrumental in making the event an incredibly successful evening out on behalf of LAF. From the flowers on the tables, to the items in the silent auction, Kristen worked tirelessly to ensure the event was a top notch night out on behalf of LAF.
In addition to her tireless efforts as one of the YPB’s premier party planners, Kristen brings a very logical and entrepreneurial perspective to the leadership team of the YPB’s Executive Committee, devising innovative and creative plans to raise visibility for LAF. Serving in 2015 as the YPB Communications Chair, Kristen is heading up efforts this year to keep members updated on what’s happening on the Board, while also working with LAF External Relations staff to identify ways to strategically collaborate with other groups supporting legal aid in the city.
This has paid off big for Justice is Served 2015 – thanks to Kristen’s efforts and leadership, LAF is excited to be partnering with the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois in its 2015 Dress for Success Drive. Guests who bring a piece of gently used professional women’s clothing to the event on Friday will get their name entered into a drawing for a special prize. LAF is excited to partner with WBAI, and offer our guests a way to help a population of women in their journey to finding secure employment. Very often, the women we help are able to embark on a similar journey, once their legal problem is solved. This is a perfect example of the creative and intentional leadership Kristen brings to our community at LAF.
We cannot thank you enough, Kristen, for all you do for us. We’ll see you on April 10!
Justice is Served 2015 will be held on April 10 at The Tortoise Club, featuring live entertainment from John Wade Jazz and a silent auction. Tickets for the evening are $150 and can be purchased here.
