Today we hear from Daniel Lindsey, a Supervisory Attorney in our Consumer Practice Group at LAF. A family man himself, Dan was especially touched by one of his clients who was desperately clinging onto his home after losing his wife. He shared with us this inspiring story:
“I love working at LAF because of clients like Mr. Lewis, a disabled Korean War veteran in his 80’s. We were able to file a bankruptcy for Mr. Lewis just before his home went to foreclosure sale. Mr. Lewis got behind on his taxes when his wife died. “She was my memory,” he admits. Mr. Lewis is always teaching us something about bankruptcy, and each visit to our office presents some previously undisclosed complication necessitating some creative new filing. But so far Mr. Lewis is still in his home. Ever the gentleman, Mr. Lewis explains why he can’t leave his home: “My wife would never forgive me.””
Thanks for all you’ve done for Mr. Lewis and for LAF, Dan!
